This is so cool! I don't have a lot of time to write a good critique so I'll just get right to it:
I think the tail is a little weird. Too thin and chunky maybe...possibly it would look better more voluminous with bigger chunks coming out from it. Same with the mane.
Other than that though I think you did really good on the coloring and smudging.

So beautiful! I really adore the composition in this piece! I really like the mane and tail, although as Blue already said, the tail could use a few longer, separate strands. And maybe a few more lowlights in the hair? Other than that, it looks great. Now, the main thing that jumps out at me is the horse's body. It's so smudged... Of course, this is a personal preference, but I feel that it almost takes away from the realisticness (is that even a word, lmao?) of the picture. Next time, I'd just duplicate the original horse layer, smudge it like you smudged it, but lower the opacity quite a bit so that you can still see the details of the horse. And one more thing - the color of the horse is a more purple-ish blue, rather than a more cyan-blue, like this: _____Horse _______Background If you use the color balance tool on the horse layer, put more of the emphasis on cyan rather than blue. That should even it out a bit :] But otherwise, really good job on the shadow, and blending the horse's front legs into the mist/water. I also like how you did the text ^^ Overall, fantastic job! I really, really love it

Let me start with how much I love what you did with the subtext, it looks fabulous! However the main text font is a bit boring for the image. It doesn't really fit the dreamy, mystical feel of the horse and background and I think it should have atleast a small hint of the other colors of the image. Not alot, so as not to lose contrast, but maybe a slight glow or tiny border would have been perfect.
The horses tail looks lovely, very nice detail and stray hairs. The mane has good movement for the style but there isn't a clear enough line of where the ned ends and hair begins, so it looks like the horse has an odd ridge of skin on top of it's neck. And I can't really tell if that big purple spot is supposed to be the shadow of hair falling over the the right or the horses neck.
As far as the body goes, the colors are lovely, though a tad too purple, as Poet said, it's still very nice ambient lighting. However, over-smudging is rather obvious, I must say. You lost alot of details in the face and hooves which confuses the eye when looking closely at the horse, since you can't really tell where details like the mouth and nose are or where the ankle ends and toe begins, etc.. It also makes your cutting appear jagged and not very smooth, when contrasted by the overly soft horse. Not to say your cutting is jagged/rough it just appears that way when the horse is too-smudged. The horse also seems far too small. The scale of the horse seems rather off from the rock and stream.
Overall, it is a very nice image. I do love the colors and mood! It's just some key realisms that could use some work.
