news.deviantart.com/article/126254/news.deviantart.com/article/125868/Please take a look at the links above before trying to critique somebody's artwork. When writing a critique: - Remember to say what you like about the image as well as what you think could be improved.
- Be constructive, not rude.
- Make sure you know what you're talking about. If you've never made a photomanipulation, you may not know how hard it is.
- Talk about the technicalities of the piece - be specific! Don't just say "I don't like how the horse is pink." Say something like "I feel that if you tweaked the tones and shading of the pink, it'd give the image some more dimension. You could also try lowering the opacity so that it's not quite so colorful. But I love how you chose the green/blue as a complementary color to the pink. It really makes the image pop." Just an example.
- Some things that you could comment on: pose, colors, technique, lighting, focus, details, creativity/originality, saturation, etc.
- Pay attention to the artist's comments! Sometimes they'll say "Please don't critique the so and so, I know what I did wrong, I'll fix it." If they know what's wrong, just move on to something else.
- Critiques must have at least 8 sentences!
------ If you need a SPECIFIC critique, please post on this board: mayhem-studios.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=specificcritAnd make sure that you put this in your post: Type of Critique: ------ (Manes and tails, blending, smudging, cutting, etc.) ------ More to come!
