ShadowShadowShadow! Always think about blending the horse into the background with little things like the shadows.
And...maybe work on the mane and tail, make 'em all prettyfull? Love the idea though, and your colour balance is superduper. =D

[headdesk] i knew i was forgetting something! when i think about it though, doesn't it kinda sorta maybe make sense? i mean the horse is fading, its halfway gone and to prove that, there's no shadow

Well, yes, kinda. But to make a successful fantasy image I don't think you can get rid of the basic sense of realism. Otherwise it just looks waay obviously manipulated. In my opinion anyway, I think the shadow is a given, even in a fantasy. Maybe you could try to fade the shadow out as well if you're trying to get that kind of effect?
You don't have to take my suggestions, btw =P I'm just throwing it out there.

no! i looove critique [wierd right?] because i feel like it actually helps me kind of improve a little if i can get a sense of what people notice in my art or not. i think i'm gonna add a shadow and see if i like it XP
