Hi there! I'm Darby, lover of horses, horse art, and Photoshop. I enjoy doing art, and I'm ready for my first lesson. ^_^ Whatever it may be.

hai darby XD. for your first assignment, i want you to cut out a horse. it can be any horse, as long as you follow stock rules, etc. when you are done cutting the horse, please put it on a bright background and upload it to your favorite image hosting service. you are going to be creating a full manip with this horse btw, so don't forget to save it in .PSD format!

I'm not sure why I chose this horse. I suppose because the color appealed to me. I'm please with the cutting. ^_^ However, I'm not sure of the quality of the image. I suppose it will get better once worked into a manipulation, body smudged, and mane and tail painted. However, if you'd like a different horse cut out, let me know. I will not hesitate to cut it out.

nice cutting! you definitely have cutting down XD the quality is fine, because like you said, we'll be smudging, painting, the works. now, i want you to find a nice background and place the horse where you want it to go. don't worry about the horse not being done, or the lighting; this is what i do every time i do a manip. that way, if i don't like how the horse looks on the background, i can easily see it from the beginning.

hi, so sorry! i had to finish my term paper outline, but its in (phew!) now... anyways, do you know how to smudge a horse at all? even if you don't think you can do it well, please smudge the horse so i can see what level you are on
