ringoluver.deviantart.com/gallery/26048049#/d33ydfqI'm thinking it's one of my best to date, what do you guys say? Any areas that look slightly better or slightly weaker? Just let me know! : D All I ask is that you ignore the text, as this was a request :3

Hmm. I like the color of the horse and main and the lighting. Great choice of stocks, too. The pose of the horse and the background fit together really well. What I see that could use some work.. The smudging looks a little strong, but then this may be the effect you were going for. But, if you look at the face area, there are some odd little stroke marks. This looks like what can happen often when using the cloning tool. It could probably be smudged out, so it's not a big deal. The cutting it smooth but, too smooth? The lines seem a little too straight edged to me, which makes it look somewhat 2 dimensional. The painted parts of the mane look nice. But, the part on top of the horses neck, the arching part? It's very uniform, which isn't very real looking. Since it's hair, it should have little dips and uneven spots, yes? Also, perhapes it could use some more definition of the hairs? Like some dodging and burning, or a few more shadows. Lastly about the horse, the hooves look a bit oddly shaped. A bit too curvy along the bottom? Last thing would be the text? I don't know if you meant that person requested those certain fonts, if they did then ignore this bit. But, I don't think the fonts fit the image very well. This is more of a personal taste thing, though. Overall it's lovely. Just some details that could use tweaking.

Thanks for your critique! Yes, I was going for a strong smudging effect. Though maybe I could have toned it down a little. *shrug* Yes, I'm ashamed to say i was too lazy to fix the face strokes. I cloned out a halter and got annoyed after a while xD Sloppy work, I know. I'm a bit cleaner on my own manips versus requests, especially when I have a lot (which, at the time, I did.) Hmm, that's an interesting point about the cutting. I'll keep that in mind. I'm working on improving my manes/tails, so thanks a million for the advice on that <3 And yes, the person requested that font. I told her ti didn't really fit, but she was determined. -shrug-

Glad you understood me. I wasn't sure at first if you meant they requested the text or those certain fonts. lol To each their own, I suppose. I know what you mean about being sloppy with requests. It's a bad habit, but I'm guilty of it as well. If something's taking way too long, I have a tendency to just get it 'good enough' and the person can hate it if they want. xD
