Can I ask - what did you 'specifically' want critiqued? *Pokes board name*
Anyway... I like it. It's an interesting idea. There are a few things that I noticed.
- The cutting on the ears seems a little sharp and pixely. I would maybe use the blur tool on very low opacity to reduce the sharpness.
- Colour balance. Did you try play with lighting and colour on this one? They usually really help boost the realism.
- Blurring. The edges of the mane look over smudged. If you're going to smudge a mane, move with the flow of it - in strands and larger clumps, rather than just a big blur. Look up a tutorial - they explain it better than I do
But overall I like it. You've picked some great stock and I really love the concept.
