atlrocks.deviantart.com/art/Give-Up-180713881Spent about 4 days on and off on this pic. About 8-ish hours total. Not so happy with all of it, but glad with the general turnout. Let me know what you think! Also all credits can be found on my dA page, on the link.

I love it! I only see a few things that could be improved upon, and they're very minor :3 But first of all, let me say that you did a fantastic job on cutting out all of those horses! I'd never have enough patience to do that... *faints* Now, for the critique. First, I'll go over lighting. You see how the main source of light is coming from over by the canyon things, faaaaaaar in the background? Well, even though it's far away, as you can see in the picture, that light is still traveling up to where the adult horses are laying. So, the adult horses' backs/topline should be slightly illuminated. You can do this by dodging, and then saturating, the coats. (Not too much saturation, but just enough so that you can see a little light shining on them.) Also illuminate the foals' backs, and faces. You can see what I mean in this picture: i54.tinypic.com/21kj85i.jpg See all the orange lines on the horses? Those are the spots that should have light on them (Sorry, I drew on your picture..... Again, lol. xD) Next, I think the horses should be a little more brown, rather than black. The whole background has warm colors/browns/oranges in it, so the horses should too, IMO. You can easily fix this by: 1. Taking a brown color, painting over the horses (on a new layer), and then set that layer on either soft light, or color mode. Then you can play around with the opacity until you get the desired effect. 2. Just play with the color balance tools until they look a little more brown, rather than black. One more thing. This is just personal preference, so you don't have to do it, but if were you, I'd put some more highlights/lowlights in the horses' manes, especially some orange-y colors. The orange tones don't have to be intense, just enough to give some more light to the manes, and add to the fiery atmosphere of the picture. (But again, that's just a personal preference of mine ) Other than that, it looks really great! You did a nice job of text placement - I can tell that you've been working on that. Fantastic job! <3

Hmm I've been having trouble with lighting lately You'll have to help me with that. Also *moment of truth* I've never actually recolored a horse before, and honestly that didn't even occur to me XD BTW I totally like your version of my pic better than mine, we should switch it out..no one has to know
