Ack! It's been 8 days and nobody's critiqued this one! So... I'll go ahead and do it xD The first thing that pops out to me is the face, but we'll go over that in a minute. The color balance looks nice - it wouldn't hurt if you added a few more blue tones, but hey, that's just a personal preference I think, since the horse is supposed to be on a cloud, that the shadow shouldn't be nearly as sharp, crisp, and... shaped as it is right now. If you gaussian blurred it a little more, I have a feeling that it would look more realistic. It's a nice opacity right now, though ^^ I really like the mane and tail. They have a nice shape, and flow well. The only thing I can say about that is maybe add a few more highlights to the tail? Other than that, looks great. Now, the face. I know it can be really difficult to remove a halter and still keep it looking realistic, and you did a good job on that. What bothers me is the white spot on his chin. Is it supposed to be a marking? Or is it added for lighting? I can't quite tell. -- If it's a marking, I don't think it would be so smudged. For example, look at the blaze on this horse: www.yhorse.com/y-horse/images/blaze_300.jpg It's fairly solid, and doesn't really smudge out at all. -- If it's lighting, I would smudge it even more, and then lower the opacity and/or play with blending modes. -- And if it's something else entirely, then you'll have to elaborate on it so that I can help ;D But I think the image as a whole looks really great. I like the composition, and I really love the text placement. Fantastic job! <3

Ooo. Critiquey! Thank you Poet - some awesome critique.
And yeah - looking back over it I have no idea what's up with the face =S The halterneck removal looked much better before I played with the colour balance - and then the white spot appeared and I decided to dodge over it....for no reason. Lol-ing at myself right now. I might actually have a go at fixing this up later this week, so thanks a bunch for the help.

I totally understand about the face. Sometimes things just... appear. Messing with color balance, levels, contrast, etc., can really make the image grainy, or, in your case, have either too much white or black. And then you get too far into it to undo it, and it's just like... Gah Lol. Anyway... I'm glad I could be of some help <3
