-The good-
I love the shine on the horse, it looks very good and very..smooth. It also look pretty well cropped. The mane and tail are also smudged pretty nice. the horizon line is in pretty much the perfect place.
-What could use work-
The main and tail are a bit "stiff", to me. They look like all the hairs are going in the exact same direction, which gives them a rigid appearence. They also don't seem to be matching the speed of the horses movement. I mean the horse appears to be trotting/turning, yet the hair and tail are moving as if it is in a full blown gallop straight ahead. Also, in comparison to the dramatic lighting on the horses body, the mane and tail look rather dull. While I'm on the horses lighting, as lovely as it is, it doesn't fit the gray-ish overcast lighting of the scene. I'd suggest either dulling the horses shines quite a bit, or heavily tweaking the background to have some very dramatic lighting. Generally when making a graphic w/o text the background should have some depth of field or texturing in the outer reaches. what I mean to say is, when the horse is sitting alone in a large BG, w/o any text to help the flow of the eyes, something should be done to make sure the extra bg doesn't demand equal attention. It's kinda hard to explain, but I hope you know what I mean.
Overall it's a lovely image, mainly just lighting and detail problems. But, I see LOTS of potential!

I think it's really pretty! I adore the simplicity and the horse and background flow together pretty well!
As Mud said, the lightning on the horse is a little intense, and the tail is a little thin in my personal opinion.
You did a great job on cutting and putting the grass on the horses hooves though!
