I hope I'm not out of place doing this, so I'll give it ago.
Overall, I like the image. The colors are brilliant together and the horse and butterfly are just adorable pair! I compliment you on your creativity with this piece and blending.
The only things I see are:
1. The splash. It is odd, and just looks like a random blob almost. I suggest taking a color from the water itself, and desaturate it and post it with a galaxy tool. Directly above the feet you would want a tad more white then around the feet and bit more, but don't over do it =)
2. The tail. It is just a mass together, though it is pretty decent. What size of brush do you use when you smudge and what occupancy?

Mmhmm. Agreed. The mane could have used a smaller brush and lower strength for smudging. Check out some tutorials on deivnatat, they always help. They tell you to pull out some larger strands to get the general direction, but then define with smaller strands and flyaways. I'll see if I can find a good one for you...

shorty, Emma, thanks for your critique The splash was definitely the hard part.; since the water had many colors in it, I thought the splash should have those colors too; but I guess it didn't work the way I wanted it to And believe it or not, to answer the question of what size brush I used, I used a .07 size brush and a 1 circle pixel brush for fly-aways; but again you can't really tell. Manes and tails are definitely one of my weakness. I have read countless tutorials, but I'm still working on improving this skill Thanks again for taking the time to critique my work
